24 Monarch Crest Trail
Durango, Colorado.

3300sf new single family
home/office at Edgemont

The project was built by
Edgewood Construction
and completed summer 2011.

The contemporary architecture of this mountain home juxtaposes a series of simple architectural shapes creating a complex and interesting structure. This unique home has an in-slab hydronic heat system designed with seven separate zones and a 95% energy efficient boiler. The craftsmanship is beautiful throughout, from Kolbe alder wood windows to the aspen wood ceilings with exposed glu-lam timbers. Knotty alder cabinets and interior doors, along with stone tile, helps create a mountain feel, while stained concrete and bamboo flooring produces a clean and comfortable living environment.

A large three-story entry with high clerestory windows welcomes you as you enter this home and serves as a central anchor to the distinct roof forms descending away from this virtual tower. Custom architectural accents and exquisite color selections throughout the house make each room feel unique and wonderful to inhabit.

Kevin, teamed with Edgewood Construction, was honored with the Gold Medal award along with a first place tie for the People’s Choice award for the Reed Residence in the 2011 Durango Parade of Homes.
