The project was built by Tom Gorton Construction and completed summer 2004.

A design challenge for this project was to build a smaller house to fit into the neighborhood of the larger Red Rock Ranch homes. Using a thinner footprint and a steep pitched roof, the home sits comfortably on the sizable corner lot and seems appropriate in the prestigious subdivision. Vaulted ceilings throughout give the house a light and open feeling. Whitewashed aspen ceilings and Douglas fir beams enhance the openness, balanced with rustic red oak flooring and spectacular granite countertops help make this a stunning home. A triangular clerestory skylight enriches the living room, while animas valley cliff views are omnipresent through generous windows in many rooms.

The master suite, along with a second bedroom and adjoining bath occupy the main level with the living, dining, kitchen, laundry and powder room. A third bedroom, bath and office are tucked away on an upper level above the garage designed as cozy attic space. Front and back patios allow the user to choose where and how to enjoy the outside, giving the option of sun or shade and a more public front area compared to a private rear yard.
