Kevin D. Reed Architecture

After graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Southern California in 1981, Kevin Reed went to work for Bobrow Thomas & Associates, a firm specializing in hospital and medical office design. During his four years there, Kevin worked on significant projects such as the Verdugo Hills Hospital addition and the Port Hueneme Naval Clinic. Kevin then joined the nationally recognized firm of de Bretteville & Polyzoides, where he worked on numerous jobs, most notably he was the project architect for the South Pasadena Civic Center and Lyon Court Dormitory. After de B & P transformed into Moule & Polyzoides, Kevin was part of an amazing urban design team that included Duany Plater Zyberk, Moore Ruble & Yudell, and Ricardo Legoretta all collaborating to design the often published Playa Vista new town plan. In 1993, Kevin established his own practice of architecture and urban design, specializing in custom single-family residential design.

Kevin has been a licensed architect in California since March 1984 and received his State of Colorado architectural license in November of 1994. Kevin was a member of the Congress for a New Urbanism and was a participant in the Colorado Leadership Summit on Smart Growth and Development in 1995. Kevin is currently a member of the Home Builders Association of Southwest Colorado.

Kevin, teamed with Edgewood Construction, was honored with the Gold Medal award along with a first place tie for the People’s Choice award for the Reed Residence in the 2011 Durango Parade of Homes.
